Why are my WinMX searches gibberish?

Lately, when I search for something on WinMX.....I get a TON of
replies...most of them gibberish...and/or Asian characters.

Anyone know why...or what can be done?

Thanks!

Disgruntled nerds are monkey wrenching the search results to cause havoc. A
solution is being worked on by the people that do that type of thing. You
can defeat the monkey wrench pretty easily by simply stopping your search
after a few results show up
or using the open nap networks.

That's what to expect if you are foolish enough to use the Winmx Peer
Network, it's been like that for years.

Start using Opennap Protocol Networks and all will be restored, especially
if you use =Arena=.

The network search feature has been hacked. When stuff starts to apear hit
STOP right below the search in new window button. If what you wants is on
the network it'll usually be in there. The problem is being worked on.

Currently there's a situation where former program coders and disgruntled
members of the program's patch team have hacked the WinMX Peer Network's
search abilities so that filters no longer apply, regardless of the search.
A discussion is on-going in this thread here:
http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,10932.0.html

There is also a component of the attacks affecting chat rooms. More info in
this thread here:
http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,11085.0/topicseen.html

At this time, those community members who continue to support the program are
working on a patch, but apparently it's slow going. Best alternatives right
now are either to use the OpenNap servers (unaffected by the hack), or a
private chatroom. Here's a summary/info page from WinMX World:
http://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/wpn_attack_information_.html

Unfortunate that a few idiots are able to spoil an entire P2P network for
everyone else...

This may be a stupid answer.

WinMx is insecure. It's sabotaged by the various competing interests
promoting different patches.

It was not designed for today's internet emvironment. It's a closed
source application and can't be fixed. There is no filter on the client
side to block unwanted search results, like there are in Bittorrent
clients that have search facilities.

My solution would be searching with Google for "Phil Hendrie Show
torrent" and if you find it, use a Bittorrent client to download.
